To understand the long history of Gaza is to recognize that the city is a phoenix, rising from the ashes at least five times throughout history. During my visits to explore its historical sites, I sought to deepen my understanding of my identity and ancestry, preserving a memory and proof of my connection to this land. It is crucial to acknowledge that these sites have consistently been targeted by the IDF in their efforts to erase any remnants that link Palestinians to their land.
